Dear goodness almighty, the Speaker of the House is in a pother over comments made by Vice President Cheney. From her indignation, one might be led to believe that the Vice President grabbed some false notion out of left field and used it to smear the lady's good name. Unfortunately for us, what the Vice President said is completely accurate, and is a sentiment shared by yours truly. (see: Hagel and Democrats Proving al-Zawahiri Right. Jan 24, 2007)
Nancy Pelosi, as quoted in a FoxNews.com article:"You cannot say as the president of the United States, 'I welcome disagreement in a time of war,' and then have the vice president of the United States go out of the country and mischaracterize a position of the speaker of the House and in a manner that says that person in that position of authority is acting against the national security of our country,"
Vice President Cheney, as quoted in FoxNews.com article:"I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we will do is validate the Al Qaeda strategy," the vice president told ABC News. "The Al Qaeda strategy is to break the will of the American people ... try to persuade us to throw in the towel and come home, and then they win because we quit."
Ms. Speaker, what really is intolerable is that we have al-Zawahiri's own testimony to what al-Qaeda's strategy is. We have the Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Murtha, most Democrats, and a few delusional Republicans who are bound and determined to follow his plan to the letter. This situation we have in the Congress today is a heart-crushing blow to the integrity of the United States, and yes indeed, it has to make me wonder about the values and priorities of the Democrats.
The truth is ugly Madam Speaker, and it really is inconvenient that your plan and the plan of al-Qaeda's number two man seem to be in lock-step. The best that we could hope for, is that the scales will drop from your eyes before it is too late to undo the damage.

Nice! When will these people see that what they are doing is hurting our country? Will it be after we are attacked again? Will they then see that they are being selfish? Putting the children of this country at risk is a sad result of these liberals selfishness! Grow up Pelosi!
