What is it that we are acknowledging on this day? It is not the remembrance of Christ's horrible mistreatment at the hand of pious men. It is not the sorrow of the friends of Jesus, as they watched him die, and then placed him in the tomb. We celebrate Easter, because it marks the day that sin was defeated for all of eternity.
It marks the day that Christ rose from the dead, as he said he would. It is the fulfillment of the prophesies that the Messiah would come. Christ defeated sin, and thanks be to God Almighty, that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but shall have eternal life!
