King's Dreams are Nightmares for Today's Separatist Leaders

There are many, who are quick to point out King's personal shortcomings. Whether you choose to believe any or all of those stories is a matter for your own due diligence. Regardless of any of that, the man could certainly give a good speech, and the "I have a dream" speech chokes me up every time I read it.

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

I get choked up, because it makes so much sense. I get choked up, because I see that much of what Dr. King dreamed of, has been achieved, yet there has arisen a veritable civil rights industry. It is a multi-headed beast, each with its own name such as Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, and others.

The beast does not want Martin Luther King's dreams to come true. Not this dream anyway...

"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood."

...which would mean an end to their lifestyle, power, and authority. The fulfillment of King's dreams would render Barach Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ, virtually impotent, as their doctrine seems to be wrapped irretrievably in black separatist bindings.

Yes, let us remember Martin Luther King on this day. Remember his dreams, and relish the progress made since the day he spoke of them. Let us all continue to reach out for the hands of our neighbors.

Those who reach back, may boast that the content of their character is beyond reproach. Those who slap our hands away (Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Farrakhan, etc.) have demonstrated utter contempt for character content. The color of one's skin is for them, and always will be, paramount.

Yet, they will continue to pay homage to King and his dreams.
