With a looming financial crisis, and a deadline for Congress to act before the week is done, Barack Obama has once again demonstrated a complete lack of concern for the office he currently holds.
Today, Barack Obama is a U.S. Senator, and he is obligated to give the business of the United States his top priority. But he has rejected Senator McCain's call to suspend campaign activity, including the scheduled Friday debate, so that the two Senators can do their duty, and be available to debate and vote.
Barack Obama had this to say... "
“I believe we should continue to have the debate” on Friday.
“Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time,” the Democratic candidate said. “It’s not necessary for us to think that we can only do one thing and suspend everything else.” He said that he and McCain have large campaign planes that can get them out of Mississippi and back to Washington quickly.
...which translates to... I want to be President, and nothing is going to stop me. Not even the fact that I am one of 100 Senators who should be completely focused on the current crisis facing the country. No sir.
